The Traffic Commissioner has revoked 2 licences held by Baldwins Crane Hire Limited (Baldwins) after it found that at least 4 drivers had been falsifying driving records in order to fulfil obligations with hiring out the cranes.

Misdemeanours include falsifying rest breaks, which the Traffic Commissioner takes a dim view of.

In addition, four directors of Baldwins have been disqualified from acting as directors and that disqualification will take effect on 10 September, the same day as the licences will be void.

The company has 81 cranes, which from 10 September will be rendered immobile.  It will be interesting to see what happens to the company.
