Nobody has been able to escape the news of the floods and the devastation they have brought to countless households and businesses in / around York.

Many businesses do not re-open after such enormous damage and of those that do, a high percentage of them fail within 18 months.

There are some steps that business owners can take now to help ease the impact, particularly financially;

• Contact your bank – some banks will offer payment holidays
• Speak with your trade creditors as soon as possible – they may offer extended terms
• Contact your landlord – they may offer a rent holidays until your business re-opens
• Talk to the HMRC – they may offer special treatment especially with the self-assessment deadline looming.

Redman Nichols Butler are holding an informal free business advice clinic at our York office for anybody affected by the floods. The business advice clinics will run from 10 am – 12 pm on 4 January 2016 and 2 pm – 4 pm on 7 January 2016.
