Andrew Beltis, who was the director of three payroll companies, has been jailed for 2 yesars for failing to pay over £250,000 of employees’ tax and NIC and failing to pay his VAT.  He was also disqualified from being a director for 8 years.

For over 3 years, Mr Beltis deducted PAYE and NIC from his employees but did not pay it over to HMRC and kept it to keep the business going.

HMRC have warned that they take a dim view of anybody acting in this fraudulent manner and will make sure they are brought to justice.
