Disqualification for 5 directors…

Five directors from a claims management business have been disqualified for a total of 28 years. The five must not take part, directly or indirectly in the promotion, formation or management of a company or limited liability partnership.

McCaskill & Morse Limited (McCaskill) went into administration in November 2015. During their investigations, The Insolvency Service found that the firm had failed to re-pay up front fees to people who had unsuccesful claims for PPI.

In some cases people were waiting for over a year for their refunds, even though the contracts they signed promised to pay them within 90 days.

The investigations leader at the Insolvency Service said that compensation regulations were put in place to protect the public but that McCaskill acted in breach of the Compensation (claims Management Services) Regulations 2006.
