Security boss banned for failing to maintain company records

Security Management Services Limited (SMS) was incorporated in March 2015, trading from Chatsworth Farm and provided security services to commercial and private clients.

Lee Garvey who was the director of SMS failed to hand over company accounting records to the liquidator when the company went into creditors voluntary liquidation in May 2017; after the company owed creditors £413,156.56.

The Insolvency Service started an investigation after the liquidation of SMS, the investigation found that during the time Lee Garvey was the director of the company, between March 2015 and May 2017, company accounts and records were not maintained or preserved.

Due to the lack of information given by Mr Garvey, it wasn’t clear to investigators why various cash withdrawals totaling £627,550 were made.

Lee Garvey signed a 8 year disqualification undertaking, starting from 31 July 2018. This bans him from acting as company director or manager, or in any way controlling a limited company u til 30 July 2026.
