Not just any redundancies – Marks and Spencer redundancies!

M & S have now announced 7,000 job losses over the next three months which is further evidence of the challenging conditions on the high street.

M & S hopes that the losses will come from voluntary redundancies and early retirement.

M & S are blaming the pandemic and the changes to the way we all shopped during the lockdown.

Other stores who have also cut their workforce include Smiths, John Lewis, Boots and now Pizza Express in addition to the numerous retailers / restaurant groups which have entered into formal insolvency processes.
