Disqualified for England!!!

Former pop sensation, Liverpool and England footballer, John Barnes, can now add director disqualification on to his list of accolades.

Mr Barnes has been banned from being a company director for 3.5 years after the Insolvency Service began investigations following the collapse of John Barnes Media Limited into liquidation. John Barnes Media Limited failed to pay more than £190,000 in corporation tax and VAT in the two years prior to its cessation. When it ceased trading and entered into liquidation, HMRC were the only creditor.

In the two years prior to its collapse, the company’s turnover was c£440k but no corporation tax or VAT was paid. The disqualification means that Mr Barnes will be unable to be involved in the promotion formation or management of a company.
