Fantasy Premier League All Star Team – with an insolvency twist!

With the arrival of the new Premier League season, the bods at Redman Nichols Butler have been busy devising their All Star Premier League football team with an insolvency twist.

We have a fantasy team of former players who have all been made bankrupt!

The most recent former player to have been made bankrupt was Emile Heskey who was made bankrupt earlier this month with allegedly unpaid tax debts to HMRC of £1.7m.

Commenting on the line up – Redman Nichols Butler’s Match of the Day expert, Barry Vinegar, commented “I think the team probably lacks a little bit of pace and 3-5-2 with Lee Hendrie in midfield would be a better formation but the Fantasy Team could cause some problems…..and irrespective of the result just think of the after match party…”

An estimated 40% of professional footballers go bankrupt within five years of retirement which is an appalling statistic given many footballers will earn more in their play career than most people will in their working life.
