Prosecutions of abuse of Covid financial support schemes….

It is five years since the government introduced the Covid financial support schemes.  Much has been written about the widespread abuse of those schemes. But has the passage of time started to dilute the number of examples of directors being punished for their misdemeanors?  The answer is a resounding no.

A quick look on The Insolvency Service’s website gives the tells you that and highlights the plethora of directors who are being prosecuted for abuse of the support schemes.

Directors of distressed companies thinking of placing their company into insolvency are still well advised to review carefully the company’s use of the Covid financial support schemes and not assume that no one is going to be interested in what the company did five years ago.
