High Street Footfall on the rise – slowly….

It has been reported that since nonessential shops were able to open up again, footfall on the high street has increased, although it is still some 30% lower than before the pandemic.

It seems however that the increase can be largely attributed to evening shoppers with the highest rise in numbers being after 5pm, especially since restaurants and bars are able to serve inside since last Monday.

There is no doubt that the retail / leisure industries are going to struggle to come back and it will be interesting to see how they fair once the Government support measures are brought to an end.
